Your profile comes from your Sun and Earth placements at two different moments in time. Every planet in your chart sits in a gate, and every gate has six lines, so each placement reads like 12.2, gate 12, line 2. Your Sun and Earth always sit directly across from each other, so they share the same line, and your profile is that line number, taken at both moments.
The first number comes from your Personality Sun, where the sun was the moment you were born. It's in the black column on the right side of your chart. This is your conscious line.
The second number comes from your Design Sun, where the sun was about 88 days before you were born, while your body was still forming. It's in the red column on the left. This is your unconscious line.
Conscious and unconscious don't mean one line matters more, or that you'll only recognize one of them. Both lines are working in you all the time, shaping how you learn, how you relate to other people and how other people experience you.
